Sci-Fi Utility Knife

A science-fiction knife, likely one to be used by a worker or really any handyman. It has a large heavy blade which is actually based on a knife I use at home, which lends to its aesthetic as a tool rather than a weapon. I wanted to make something that had a nice pop of color on it to contrast with the more dull coloring one might see on most blade designs, and I will definitely be doing that again. I do wish that I had pushed the silhouette a bit more, or maybe add more to the handle of the blade, however those are things that could be altered in a second pass. Overall, I'm really happy with how it came out.

I tried to get the wear and tear on it to match the kinds of wear that would appear when using the blade, such as intense scratches onto the front gaurd.

I did more with the texturing process to really get the damage to look good, while still maintaining the idea that the knife is being maintained to a degree.

I kept the sketch simple, with more of a focus on making a unique shape, which is why I chose to break up the silhouette with the circle in the back.
