This has been by far my favorite project to work on, using an asset pack of great models and textures from the Unreal Engine store (the Medieval Dungeon by Infuse Studio), I constructed an abandoned crypt once home to a great beast and its worshippers. It went through multiple iterations, with many of the changes directed towards making the space feel more lived in and realized. Much of the alterations made were to encourage a feeling that the place was only recently abandoned, with small stories littering the scene, from doors having been shattered open, to shrines still surrounded by those who once worshiped them.
While I do have experience modeling and texturing, I wanted to focus on only using the models at hand, and thus spent much of my time finding creative uses for those that were included with the asset pack. With many skeletal models to use, as well as lots and lots of architectural pieces, I kit-bashed what I could to make what I believe to be a truly unique space. Even the titular chimera is a rescaled and reassembled skeleton, which I find to be a great end-cap to the dungeon and a wonderful set piece to end on. While I do believe there is room for improvement as always, I think that for my first real effort in Unreal Engine, I am happy to say that it was a success, not only in teaching me but also in producing something I am proud of. It was difficult to narrow down all the details without missing some vignettes I had made, I still hope it captures the amount of time and effort I put into it.
